This is obviously more national news that specifically North County San Diego news, but, because of the revelations that this news brings, it is worth mentioning.  A lack of new enlistments in the military means the military will turn to:

a.) Bears, because they are America’s number one enemy, and if they die on the field, who cares, and we don’t have to provide them health insurance.

b.) Veterans (Young and Old)  They don’t care if you’re eighty and on dialysis, your country needs you dammit.  Now boot up and get to Iraq!

or c.) Ex-convicts, including some who were convicted of making terrorist threats involving bombs.

In other news Pennsylvania finally votes today in what is now the third, fourth or I don’t know, sixth Super Tuesday.  I think it is safe to say that no clear winner will be decided.  And perhaps, as Jon Stewart said last night to Barack Obama, it will come to this.  Oh bring out the popcorn and Junior Mints, will you?  I’m trying to watch the democratic primary here.
