This is just another reason why I don’t think I would have been too happy living in the ice age: giant sloths.  A skeleton of one of the giant creatures (they were reportedly the size of cows) was found in Carlsbad and apparently they roamed around the lands of North County San Diego long before humans made their much smaller footprints.  It is speculated that the sloths were some of the first victims of global warming.
