Finally we can all breathe.  Literally.  Encinitas adopted a beach smoking ban just before beach goers will be hitting the sands in search of sun, surf and stellar tans….but definitely not for smoke.  The ban was adopted yesterday but will not take affect until 30 days.  If there is one thing to be said: most people do not like cigarette smoke.  I even know many smokers who do not like cigarette smoke…and it is certainly despicable to see cigarette butts littered around the beautiful San Diego beaches.

While Europeans may still be griping about smoking bans adopted in pubs, restaurants and cafes, Californians are one step ahead of the game.  We all know smoking is bad for you….it causes cancer, for crying out loud.  And while I recently found out that my face wash also may cause cancer at least it smells like gardenias and not ash.
