Do you think after a taste of Southern California weather German students will want to go back to their country of residence?  A foreign exchange program has allowed several German students a chance to live in Vista to experience San Diego life.  I’ve been to Germany and I’m going to venture to say “yes.”  Don’t get me wrong San Diego is a nice place to live and quite frankly the weather is unbeatable.  But let’s be realistic: San Diego is not exactly the most thrilling place to live, especially if you are a young person.  Munich, Cologne and especially Berlin are three cities that put San Diego to shame when it comes to the “coolness” factor and in this case I am not talking about the weather.  There is more to these cities than the boring suburban sprawl of San Diego and their uniqueness and modernness makes our little Southern Californian haven look outdated.

And of course Germans are way less uptight than Americans, but that is just a well known fact.  Perhaps it has to do with the copious amounts of beer that they drink, which, also of note is way better than the repulsive Coors and Bud Lite that come in cans of 48 packs, which you can of course smash against your head, reaffirming the fact that cans are not cool.  So I guess I’m pretty sure that these students will return home, glad for the experience, but also glad for the beer.  The drinking age in Germany is 16.  Of course not like they can take their fantastic Kolsch to the sunny beach there!  Oh wait, we can’t either.  Damn.
