Keeping the Lagoon Clean
The Batiquitos Lagoon seems as if it is in hot water, or at least mucky water. It is being bombarded with sludge from all sides and biologists are worried about the quick accumulation of sand and mud in the much-loved lagoon. The area is shared by both people (who enjoy running along its quaint banks) and animals, namely birds and fish who make the lagoon their homes, or temporary abodes, for those who are migrating. It would be ashame to loose this piece of nature to drudges of muck. Keep up on the current research to help quell the influx of sand and mud and see what you can do to help.
