North County San Diegans sure have something to grumble about now that gas prices have hit $3.41 per gallon. The North County Times reports that the current national average for a gallon of gas is about $3.13. 28 cents more per gallon. That is what we all get for wanting to live in the beautiful, palm tree laden bit of paradise in Southern California. That’s what we also get for driving around luxury SUVs and BMWs, yes I’m talking about you, La Jolla residents. Everyone driving a Prius is going, “Look at my fat pocketbook, now mother*******! Even if my car is ugly!” Yes I just admitted that I think the Prius is ugly, however that’s not to say I would never get one, especially if gas prices keep going in the upward direction. Of course if we all listened to President Bush, we would think that everything is just peachy. According to him, gas prices aren’t getting higher, we’re not going into a recession, the war will not go on for years and years. It’s almost as if we are all in a nightmare and he’s having the sweet dream. Wake up already! Oh damn this is reality? Thank God it’s at least Friday.
